Inside Electronics: Tinkering with Circuits
This hands-on workshop introduces some of the underlying scientific knowledge about how circuits — an important part of all digital technologies — work.
For example, why does a lamp light up, what is built in our cellphones, etc. We will be discussing the physics concepts behind the electronics, and participants will be handling the electronic compartments to build their own circuits.
This session is recommended for Notre Dame non-physics students who would like to learn about how electronics work.
LEARNING GOALS
- Remember / understand the concepts and relationships between voltage, current, and resistance.
- Be able to build their own circuits with simple electronic components.
This session will be presented by one of the NFCDS Pedagogy Fellows. For more information about this program, please visit cds.library.nd.edu/nfcds-pedagogy-fellowship.
