Irish Studies Research (Session 3 of 3): Open House--New Arrivals in Rare Books and Special Collections

-Faculty -Graduate Students -Postdocs -Public, Alumni, & Friends -Staff -Undergraduate Students

The work of our scholars—students, faculty, and visitors—is grounded in our Hesburgh Libraries' rich and extensive Irish Studies collections. In these Irish Studies Research sessions, participants will become familiar with important resources for research in Irish studies. The sessions are independent of one another, and individuals may attend one of more sessions as they choose.

Session 3: New Arrivals in Rare Books and Special Collections

Please leave your belongings in the lockers provided and follow the directions for visiting the Rare Books Reading Room.

Visitors may drop in and view a selection of recent additions to the collections, including the following:

  • First printed book by an Irish person 

  • Broadside on 1918 election

  • Petition on Ulysses

  • Seamus Heaney editions

  • Fáinne an Lae

  • Ulysses print

  • Tuireamh na hÉireann manuscript

  • Sinn Féin broadsides
