Introduction to Python & Pandas

-Faculty -Graduate Students -Postdocs -Staff -Undergraduate Students

Python is a general purpose programming language that is useful for writing scripts to work effectively and reproducibly with data. Pandas is an open source library written for the Python programming language, providing tools for data manipulation and analysis.

This session is an introduction to Python and pandas designed for participants with no programming experience.

Concepts covered in this session include the following:

  • Python basics
  • Processing data from a file
  • Basic data manipulation and analysis with pandas

This lesson assumes no prior knowledge of the skills or tools.

Please follow these instructions to install Python and download example data files before the session.
