Data Analysis and Visualization in R for Social Scientists Part 1

OPEN TO:
-Faculty -Graduate Students -Postdocs -Staff -Undergraduate Students

This is an introduction to R designed for participants with no programming experience.

Participants will work through basic information about the following topics over the course of the 3-part session:

  • Basic information about R syntax
  • The RStudio interface
  • How to import CSV files
  • The structure of data frames
  • How to deal with factors
  • How to add/remove rows and columns
  • How to calculate summary statistics from a data frame
  • A brief introduction to plotting

This lesson assumes no prior knowledge of the skills or tools.
