Book Workshop Part 1: The Book as Object
Join Megan J. Hall, Ph.D. (Medieval Institute) and Julie Tanaka, Ph.D. (Curator, Special Collections) in Hesburgh Library Special Collections (Library 102) for a book workshop.
This workshop will introduce participants to the book as physical object in West. Learn about bindings, paper making and paper types, the parts of a book, and the general development of the book from the Middle Ages to contemporary times. The workshop includes hands-on demonstrations of medieval and modern books and manuscripts.
