Join Michael Deike, Business Librarian, and Susan Azyndar, Law Librarian, for a demonstration of how to leverage the Capital IQ and Nexis Uni databases to conduct primary legal research on publicly traded companies.
Researching a company's legal and regulatory landscape requires moving beyond simple web searches and utilizing structured, authoritative databases. This workshop uses S&P Capital IQ (for financial and corporate structure data) and Nexis Uni (for primary and secondary legal sources) as vehicles to teach essential search concepts: structured filtering, source selection, and strategic pivoting between different content types. The focus is on developing search competency, not merely navigating database interfaces.
