Learn the best practices for giving impactful presentations

This workshop is designed to develop the ability to create impactful, slide-deck-driven presentations. No matter the audience you’re presenting to, a strong visual presentation can determine whether you "get to yes" with your stakeholders.

Participants will move from the founding principles of design (Gestalt) to storytelling techniques. We will move from best practices for designing slides (including data-rich slides) to combining those slides into a highly impactful data story.

We will be working with Google Slides in this workshop, although all insights apply equally to PowerPoint or other slide software.

Prerequisite:
No previous experience is necessary.

Learning goals:

  • Learn the theory (Gestalt) behind designing impactful visuals.
  • Learn theories of narrative storytelling for presentations.
  • Practice actively redesigning slides and restructuring slide decks for optimal effect.
