HTML & CSS — Essential Training
For those who use the Web to communicate with others, a familiarity with HTML and CSS can improve the clarity and power of your communication and design, help you better understand the workings of the contemporary internet, and better style content in platforms that allow you access to source code.
In this hands-on workshop, we will dive immediately into building simple web pages, as a way to understand the relationship between HTML and CSS.
PREREQUISITES: No previous experience with HTML or CSS is necessary.
LEARNING GOALS
- Learn the foundations of HTML, including the primary HTML elements and the box model.
- Learn the foundations of CSS, including classes, IDs, and external-, embedded-, and inline styles.

We’ll be in 264, which has an far larger capacity than the number of people who have signed up. And 264 is a computer classroom. You may use the PCs there or bring your own machine. I’d recommend installing a code editor well before the workshop. Two good and free solutions are:
