Introduction to Geospatial Analysis in ArcGIS Online
This workshop will introduce you to basic tools for conducting geospatial analysis with vector data in ArcGIS Online. ArcGIS Online is a browser-based GIS platform that allows users to create, visualize, and manipulate spatial data. Whether you are interested in working with larger datasets or creating maps to add to a class project or senior thesis, ArcGIS Online offers an excellent workspace for researchers who are interested in working with GIS through a web-based platform.
AFTER COMPLETING THIS WORKSHOP, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Create, edit, and analyze vector data using various geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Online.
- Work with vector and tabular data sets using joins.
- Develop and implement GIS workflows to answer research questions.
PREREQUISITES
- If you do not already have access to the campus GIS network, you will receive an invitation before the workshop. Please activate your account prior to the workshop.
- Participants are expected to bring a computer to the session.
- This workshop is designed for learners with experience using Geographic Information Systems. If you are new to GIS or have limited experience with ArcGIS Online, please consider taking the Mapping with ArcGIS Online workshop offered in the morning.
